Work cited page | Article writing homework help

part1-

For Writing Assignment – Works Cited page, you will be researching your chosen career, finding six sources, and writing a one-page Works Cited page.  BEFORE you begin the following steps, read these pages in our textbook, Writing for Success.  Read Chapter11.pdf on how to manage your research project.

Follow these steps:

Step #1:  Choose a career that you’ve always wanted to know more about and that you would possibly love to do.

Step #2: Create a list of three criteria that you want to research.  The criteria you choose may be salary, benefits, location, environment, part time vs. full time, education requirements and/or ongoing professional requirements.

Step #3:  Find two sources (articles, journals, etc.) from reputable sources (no blogs) for each of your criterion.  Therefore, you should have a total of six sources that you will list out on your Works Cited page.   . I’ve started your research for you by giving you  six websites below.

Step #4: As you create your Works Cited page reference this  MLA Works Cited.pdf

Part2-

Selecting Direct Quotes from Your Sources for Your Research Paper

Step 1:

Please create a list of your six sources.  I would prefer if you could simply post a doc or cut and paste a live link for me so I can easily peruse each source you plan on using.

Step 2:

Pull out one or two direct quotes from each source that you plan on using for your Research Paper.   Does each of these quotes relate to at least one of your criteria?  Please list out the criteria next to your quote.

Part3-

Step #1  Write a one-page informal Research Proposal to share with your classmates.   Here are some questions to consider when writing this proposal:

  • Why did you choose this topic as your focus?
  • How much is already known about your topic of focus?
  • What is missing from your current knowledge?
  • What criteria will you want to research?
  • What new insights will your research contribute?
  • Why is this research worth doing?

Step #2 After you write your one-page research proposal,  identify and share three potential problems you might encounter in the process of researching and writing your paper.  For each problem, write at least one strategy for solving the problem or minimizing its effect on your paper.
