Global health problems have extensive impact on a global level. Among the recent global health, emergencies has been the Zika Virus. From the video, important facts about the virus are provided. Most importantly, the video is a source of insights about how the disease is spread and the ways it can be prevented from spreading. Declaring a health problem a global emergency is not enough. It is imperative that the global population is educated on how to remain safe in the face of the emergency. The need for knowledge highlights the critical role of the video. The W.H.O is out to ensure that more people are protected from contracting the virus, especially pregnant mothers to prevent the long-term effects. The video enlightens the people on the parts of the world to avoid the virus.
The video has serious impacts on nursing and the health care system in general. Besides taking care of the sick, nurses have an important role to play in health promotion (Kemppainen, Tossavainen & Turunen, 2013). As such, health campaign includes the efforts to create awareness such that diseases and health problems can be prevented. The video sheds light to the nursing professionals on the importance of educating the public on how to prevent the Zika virus. Nurses and other health care providers can borrow insights from the video in their efforts to pass knowledge to the people on how to prevent the virus. They can use the information as the basis for creating campaigns to promote preventive measures for the global emergency. It is no doubt that preventing further spread of Zika is a priority for healthcare systems across the world.
