Interventions
The couple will undertake five counseling sessions together to achieve the goal. During the sessions, the therapist will engage in the stated activities to help the couple achieve the goal and enjoy a happier marriage. Attending all the tasks will be necessary for the clients to improve their communication since this is one of the areas failing in their marriage. The sessions will also help the therapist to have a deeper understanding of their perception of the issues affecting their marriage. Thus, it will be necessary for the therapist to create a conducive environment for the couple to communicate and actually speak to one another. The process will help them to improve their interpersonal communication and relationship. During the initial session, they will set goals and rules to guide the rest of the therapy. Working according to the goals will direct the therapy to a successful conclusion. The focus will help the therapist create a client-centered therapy for the couple. With the help of the therapist, they will identify problematic cognitive-affective processes and other issues affecting their relationship. Opening discussions about their past will help identify the things they need to fix to have a happier marriage. Generally, the conjoint sessions will play an important role in helping the couple realize underlying issues and resolve them successfully. By the end of the sessions, they are expected to have achieved their goal.
