Week 3 Journal
Days before we leave for the trip to Spain, the excitement is even greater. The time leading to the day we would leave is full of activities, especially in terms of orientation on what is awaiting as we embark on the trip and during our stay in that country. During the first orientation, which took place in January 18, we were taken through the expectations during the trip. We were given the particular assignments that could guide us in the learning process. More importantly, we were given a list of rules that we were expected to follow to the letter. The dos and don’ts were outlined, including the fact that we were not to take alcohol or be alone during the stay. We are expecting another orientation on February 1, where we might get to know our roommates. Indeed, I am excited to get to know and make a new friend.
Although I already know that, there are other students from other campuses across the country. In fact, the trip will become more real when I get to meet the person I will spend most of the time with. With the flight tickets, it means that we are set for the journey to Spain. It is at this point that I am thinking about the flight and my stay in Spain. I have started considering how things will be in reality being in a country that I have not been before. While a little nervous, I have gained confidence in the knowledge that I was not the only nursing student taking the trip. The chance to make friends with common interests makes things better. Somehow, I have started to feel that the trip will be enjoyable and that I will have a chance to learn and achieve my personal goals.
