Ref: Letter of Appreciation for the Opportunity to Intern in the Organization
Dear Mrs. Ingrid H. Benedict,
My name is (Student’s name), and I am an undergraduate student pursuing a cultural and ethnic studies degree. I want to thank you and the agency for granting me the opportunity to intern at Neighbors in Action Agency. Given my current field of study, I have always desired to intern or work in an entity that pursues humanitarian goals, especially in minority communities. I was very excited after receiving news that I would be interning at the agency because this opportunity will enable me to fulfill my desire to work in a humanitarian organization while also participating in activities that will help promote the welfare of the community. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity, and I promise to remain committed to the organization’s mission, vision, and values and learn from others.
I have learned much about your agency through social media and my research. I understand that the agency aims to make central Brooklyn neighborhoods safer and healthier for all. The agency achieves this through services such as Youth Impact, Save Our Streets, Neighbor Services, and Workshops. Besides this valuable information, I would also want to ask a few questions that will enhance my understanding of the internship position that I qualified for. I wish to learn more about the everyday responsibilities that the internship position entails, and one of the most important things I can do during my time as an intern to make a change in the agency and the community. I would also like to understand some of the challenges individuals in such positions are likely to face, the agency’s culture and the current resources available for interns to help them develop while working there. I would sincerely appreciate learning more about the agency through these few questions and as I start my duties as an intern.
