Subject: Resigning of a Colleague
Dear colleagues,
Over the last three weeks, Mr Whittker and I have had the pleasure to lead our team and watch the successful implementation of hourly rounding in the surgical unit. As we all know, this project was mainly influenced by the high costs associated with patient falls, which are estimated to amount to $14,000 by the Joint Commission (Brown 2). It has been established that patient falls have reduced significantly thanks to the undying effort and cooperation that the team has exhibited. Hopefully, by the end of this project, such accidents will have been entirely combatted in our unit.
Unfortunately, I face a difficult task to inform you that Mr Whittker will no longer be part of the team from August 24, 2020. Regrettably, he recently resigned from work due to unavoidable circumstances. Despite these unprecedented changes, I hope that our team will work together to help this project succeed.
Once again, I take this opportunity to thank you for your unwavering commitment to this project.
Sincerely,

Subject: Joining of New Team Members
Dear Unit Staff,
I am delighted to inform you that Jacky Mauro, Ace Herzog, and Erika Thompson will join the orthopedic team on August 24, 2020. These new employees are expected to help combat the issue of workload and poor quality of patient care associated with nurse shortage (Shammika and De Alwis 75). As we all know, the orthopedic unit has, for a while now, has been experiencing a nurse shortage. Therefore, recruitment is our key strategy to maintain a favorable nurse-patient ratio in the unit. In this regard, if you see a new team member on August 24, kindly let them feel like part of our team.
As the department manager, I, in advance, appreciate all your effort in helping me provide a warm welcome to our new employees.
Sincerely,
Student’s Name,
Manager of the Orthopedic Department
