The mission, values, and vision of an organization are considered as the most powerful tools of any profit-oriented firm. Through these statements, the management, team members, employees, and other stakeholders understand the purpose, image, and principles of the organization. More so, a clear mission, values, and vision make it easier for the team to create an effective Health Information Strategy, which helps in tracking the hospital’s digital utilization and examine whether its outcomes are useful as per the laid down expectations. In addition, with well-established statements, a hospital eliminates the complexities of integrating information, since it is an expensive and time-consuming endeavor.
Question 2
A 5-10-year outline ensures that a facility establishes its future achievement target. Mostly, a “future state” works hand in hand with a “current state” analysis of the firm. With the two columns, the information technology department can make an effective gap analysis report, which project managers in failing departments use to push for improvement within the health care sector.
Question 3
The first time I helped develop a strategic plan was during my gap year when a local NGO sent me as a team leader of a feeding program for the poor old people in Scandinavia. During this time, I was involved in making a strategic plan to ensure the success of the mission. The strategy included developing and understanding the mission, values, and vision of the organization. Then through an internal and external audit of the organization, we all helped recognize the competitive abilities of the firm to help achieve our goals. Afterward, we stipulated the long-term objectives, made them a priority in all daily tasks and agreed to take accountability for the project’s success. Lastly, we set up a six-month period where for every session we could meet and review our performance, discuss the setbacks or positive outcomes, and come up with amicable solutions.
