Google seeks to provide the best search results for its customers. Through algorithms, Google AdSense expects the search results to differ from person to person regardless of whether the users are from the exact location. Google uses the user’s physical location and history to prioritize the search results. The Internet Protocol addresses help Google deliver the most relevant search result that matches the users’ location. Similarly. The user’s search history to personalize the results based on the previous predictable behavior of the user. The past clicks help Google learn the user’s interests and provide similar relevant searches in the future.
Google Ads and AdSense service portend a system that allows businesses to bid for spaces for advertisement in the Google search results. The spaces also belong to other Google-affiliated properties. On the contrary, AdSense is a system that makes it possible for website owners and publishers to sell the ad spaces to different businesses (Soegoto and Semesta 2018). All these systems benefit the company’s online advertisement with Google. The reason stems from the principle that Google has an advertisement auction that allows it to sell the online billboard to the highest bidder. The moment a business books for space, it advertises its business, making advertises scramble for space. The main benefit that AdSense presents to businesses that advertise with Google is that it is a tool that does not rely on a specific product for the user to sell. Google AdSense provides the search options that allow the user to stick to the website. The role that this plays in the advertisement is that it promotes click impressions. Moreover, Google AdSense enables users to go beyond browsing by placing advertisements and lets visitors purpose their browsing. Therefore, Google Ad revolutionizes online marketing that customers the principles of ad spaces for the buyers’ impressions. In terms of volumes, Google Ads allows users to manage ads on different sites. A single AdSense account helps a user to cater to the ads on other websites. As a result, all these elements allow for the monitoring of the marketing process on multiple websites.
Issues of Google eavesdropping through internet-based smart home services raise concerns for privacy and security. The backlash among users on privacy against artificial intelligence digital assistant devices grows from the fact that these devices store data, conversation and record what users could be doing. Google’s Home CCTV cameras show LED lights when recording to streaming. While this looks normal, there is a potential danger in identity theft and eavesdropping. Also, several Google Home devices have come under criticism, with users allege that Amazon, Apple, and Google employees eavesdrop and listen to recoding that the home devices made (Chhetri & Motti 2019). Although the reason for listening and eavesdropping is to improve the quality of artificial intelligence, the extent to which these companies engage in the breach of privacy goes beyond interpreting actions and influencing the behavior of the users. Revelations of eavesdropping raised concerns with the allegations that intelligent home devices always listen to conversations of users. The balance between privacy and functionality breaches the manufacturer’s ethical code and threatens the safety and security of users.
