Assignment: Global Healthcare Comparison Matrix and Narrative Statement
If you talk about a possible poor health outcome, do you believe that outcome will occur? Do you believe eye contact and personal contact should be avoided?
You would have a difficult time practicing as a nurse if you believed these to be true. But they are very real beliefs in some cultures.
Differences in cultural beliefs, subcultures, religion, ethnic customs, dietary customs, language, and a host of other factors contribute to the complex environment that surrounds global healthcare issues. Failure to understand and account for these differences can create a gulf between practitioners and the public they serve.
In this Assignment, you will examine a global health issue and consider the approach to this issue by the United States and by one other country. USE KENYA

Part 2: A Plan for Social Change
The COVID-19 pandemic as a global health issue is affecting the country, my community, and my practice as a nurse leader. Although the country has policies to help in the fight against the pandemic, research reveals the ongoing and evolving role of the nurse to streamline the policies to ensure that they are suitable to deal with a health crisis (Corless et al., 2018; Milstead & Short, 2019). I would propose a plan for change that includes direct involvement of the nurse leader in policy creation and changes since they have a deeper understanding of how the crisis unfolds. I would work as a bridge between my local practice and the global community, from a policy level, to ensure that policies reflect the global need for changes at the policy level. My role as the nurse leader and the incorporation of a global perspective into my local practice will equip nurses and other care providers with necessary resources to deal with global health challenges, such as COVID-19 and ensure social changes, such as helping the society to embrace social distancing.
