Electric Vehicles and EV Green Chargers in Dubai
Sustainable transportation is a major change in Dubai as people strive to protect the environment from the dangers of greenhouse gases that emanate from fossil fuels. One of the changes has been introducing electric vehicles and EV green chargers into the market as alternatives to polluting transportation. While many researchers have written about the adoption of electric vehicles and EV green chargers, only a few, such as “Sustainable Transportation Infrastructure for Smart Cities in the Gulf Cooperation Council: The Case of Electric Vehicle Charging,” explore Dubai’s uptake.
Current research focuses on sustainability in the transport sector, being the worst contributor to greenhouse emissions. Balaji and Soori are among the authors who have researched the uptake of the sustainability initiatives in Dubai (107). According to the article, the market share for electric vehicles (EVs) has been increasing steadily in Dubai, but mass adaptation depends on charging infrastructure. Another factor behind the mass adoption of sustainability initiatives is addressing “range anxiety”. Addressing the drawbacks will help the country increase the number of people in Dubai using alternative transportation and address the challenge. While charging systems are already in place, they are inadequate. The author proposes implementing a fast-charging wireless system for a convenient and fast means of charging electric vehicles. The effective charging infrastructure is solar-powered as part of a “Smart City” design and improve the ability of residents to improve sustainability.
Residents in major cities in Dubai are adapting to the sustainability model, evident in the increase in the market share for electric vehicles and EV green chargers. People are adopting the technology quite fast (Habib et al. 3416). Tesla and Chevrolet are among the leading electric vehicle models selling in Dubai. The market for cars has been increasing considerably in recent years. Residents are increasingly supporting the move to improve sustainability in the UAE (Help Save the Environment). More companies are always launching new electric car models in the UAE market to sustain the demand. However, the charging system limitations should be addressed to improve and make the city and country more sustainable.
Besides creating more capacity for EV charging, word-of-mouth marketing can help the industry to grow. Companies such as Tesla and Chevrolet can support the marketing strategy to ensure that more people know about the benefits of electric cars in achieving sustainability. Through the tool, many people can support the green EV chargers initiative in the city. One of the ways this works is giving positive reviews and encouraging more people to speak about the product (Li et al. 2). They should create dialogues among consumers to ensure that others know and support the trend. Customer experiences trigger free advertising, but they have to be satisfied with the product. Electric charger companies can improve the update of the technologies by capitalizing on the word-of-mouth.
Sustainable transportation infrastructure will solve the issue of greenhouse gases that emanate from the burning of fossil fuels. The solution lies in the adoption of electric vehicles and electric vehicle charging systems. Although the initiative has been adopted in Dubai, the charging infrastructure has not been adequately developed. Therefore, there is a need for introducing green charging systems in the city. However, companies introducing the systems should market them more effectively, such as through word-of-mouth to communicate the change for more customers to accept.
